Jim Franceus, CFP®, has over 40 years of experience as a financial service professional and advisor. His expertise includes investment management and portfolio design, retirement planning, tax planning and estate planning and business consultation. Jim is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), and General Securities representative. He has operated his own independent financial services firm since 1997, and founded Summit Financial Advisors, Inc. in 2002.
Jim lives in Happy Valley, Oregon; has an office in his home; and a branch office in Lake Oswego. Jim spent many years living and working in the Lake Oswego community, including serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board for six years and as President in 2010-2011. Jim’s commitment to small businesses led to the co-founding of the Lake Oswego Business Alliance in 2005, committed to educating and promoting business success in the community.
Jim received his bachelor of science in education from the University of Wisconsin in 1972, and designation from the College of Financial Planning in 1994 as a Certified Financial Planner®. He also served our country as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 – 1975. Jim is married to his lovely wife Nancy, and together they have eight grown children and seven grandchildren. Jim enjoys playing basketball and golf; and he loves music and traveling.
